• Intensive support of existing customers and acquisition of new customers worldwide
• Generating bids based on the customer requirements specification, components, drawings, customer visits in collaboration with project planning.

Your qualifications:

• Degree level qualification as a mechanical or electrical engineer or an industrial engineering degree or equivalent training/experience
• Relevant professional experience - preferably in specialised mechanical engineering
• Project management experience, business administration and marketing knowledge
• Design or project planning experience an advantage
• very good IT skills (MS Office package, ERP system)
• Resilience, flexibility, assertiveness as well as initiative and ability to work in a team
• Good spoken and written English language skills, an additional foreign language would be welcome (French an advantage)
• Willing to travel worldwide

Your responsibilities:

• Raising enquiries to suppliers for materials, semi-finished products and plant components and based on the requirements of the technical departments
• Conducting price negotiations and determining commercial terms and conditions
• Evaluating supplier offers and creating a price comparison list

• Carrying out commercial correspondence during the ordering process
• Preparation for dispatch and handling
• Customs clearance

Your qualifications:

• Technical degree (mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, process engineering etc) or appropriate technical training with an additional commercial qualification (e.g. MBE or MBA)
• Several years of relevant professional purchasing experience desirable, especially in the automotive sector
• Strong technical literacy
• Negotiating skills and very good verbal communication ability
• Excellent negotiation skills in English
• Good IT skills
• Able to work independently, motivated, flexible, able to work in a team, communication skills, resilience and commitment and a bias for action
